The Good Friday Project, started by Rev. Ytonna Dyess Finnegan (UUMS 2018) during the COVID-19 pandemic when most Unity churches were closed, offers a deeper understanding of “The Seven Last Words of Jesus” through music, message, meditation, and silence by Unity leaders, youths, and young adults. Rev. Ytonna said the idea for this 3-hour contemplative experience came as a gentle nudge from Spirit to which she said “Yes.” She acknowledges that from launching Zoom to having so many others join her in setting the program up was all Spirit’s doing. Since the beginning, The Good Friday Project has grown into what Rev. Ytonna describes as “a beautiful watercolor of God’s imagination and creation.” While the event is FREE , Love Offerings are accepted to support Unity Southeast Region scholarships for Y.O.U. (Youth of Unity) and IYOU (International Youth of Unity), and YFM (Youth & Family Ministry) programs and events. Those interested may logon at any time between 11:45 am and 2:45 pm EST.
