Rev. Dr. Ruth M. Mosley, founder of West Side Unity and Unity Urban Ministerial School, made her transition on Sunday, November 8, 2020 in Memphis, Tennessee. Rev. Ruth lived her Truth out loud, she walked her talk, she ran her race. she stayed the course and all the while, she kept her faith. She held fast to the foundation on which she built the Church and the School as stated in Isaiah 61:1: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because God has anointed me to bring good news to the poor…to comfort the broken-hearted…to proclaim liberty to the captives…and freedom to those who are bound.” We send our loving thoughts and prayers to her son, Rev. William Mosley, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many offspring she birthed through ministry Please Share your thoughts and memories with us below.
Rev. Nickie Golden facilitated Homiletics II with a gentle touch and humor, and holding tight boundaries as we learned the skills required to be inspirational public speakers. What a course, and I am so grateful that I had the blessing of learning under Rev. Nickie. She is a bright light in the Unity Movement, and she joyfully and willingly shares that light for all of us as we walk our path. Thank you.
Thank you to Rev. Kirti Cesaratto for being such a guiding light and force of nature as she and Toni Carter developed the Prison Ministry Certification Program curriculum. Rev. Kirti has a unique ability to see the big picture, and using humor and organization, brings the big picture into bite-sized chunks so I could take my steps towards creating my future in Prison Ministry. Such a blessing.
The Prison Ministry Certification Program started this year under the direction of Toni Carter and Rev. Kirti Cesserato. Toni Carter's feedback, direction, and additional instruction were invaluable. Her sense of humor, incredible background in prison ministry, and ability to see through the lens of Truth and Justice all serve to guide me as I pursue my own ministry combining Spiritual Recovery with Prison Ministry. I am so grateful for taking this course and for Toni.
There is one word that comes to mind when I think of or watch you lead UUMS:
Brilliance.
You are the embodiment of leadership.
Your mind is a whip-sharp force of knowledge, whose consciousness is a vast container of infromation that holds it all together powerfully and beautifull. I enjoyed your love for telling stories and how you shared that in the Storytelly Class. I stand in quiet amazement when I observe you Rev. Sandra. You are amazing.
I have enjoyed every single Bible History class that I have had with you. What I sense the most in your feedback is your passion and fascination of scripture. It is such a breath of fresh air to be able to expand and see things differently than how I was raised. By you creating such a wonderful and allowing space, you have offered me opportunites to contemplate deeply, and embody and personally apply the metaphysics in scriptures. You are a wonderful Teacher. I am grateful.
I know beyond a doubt that your wisdom, knowledge and guidance in my classes with you leading has amplified my Spirit. Every bit of feedback I took into my heart and I will treasure them, and allow them to reach others through me. You are such a fine example of love, compassion, and service. Your dedication to what YOU love to do is inspiring. I appreciate your Presence tremendously.

With deep appreciation and love, I thank you for the profound experience of the Prayer class—one of the very first classes I took at UUMS. It was the perfect beginning for my spiritual path, grounding me in the power of affirmative prayer and the sacred practice of connecting with the Divine.
What began as a class blossomed into a spiritual community. We continue to meet —faithfully praying, blessing, supporting, and assisting one another as we grow in Spirit.

I extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for your guidance and insight throughout our studies on the Board of Directors and Ministerial Ethics. They were instrumental in deepening my understanding of the sacred responsibilities and ethical standards that shape how ministers interact—with their boards, their congregations, and their communities.

With deep gratitude and heartfelt appreciation, I want to thank you for your dedicated teaching and inspired guidance throughout the four classes of Advanced Metaphysics. Each session has been a transformative journey that has both strengthened and broadened my spiritual awareness and consciousness.
I admire how hard you work to build your own ministry, Golden Light, to serve the Unity of Melbourne as the Senior Minister, to write books, to teach SEE classes ,and to teach The Course in Miracles. I'm sure I am missing something. Bless you for all that you do!
I wanted to shout out a message of appreciation to Rev. Sandra as she has been quick to respond to questions and concerns about the SEE program. Thank you for connecting me with the right people for the help I needed and for answering my questions so quickly.
Thank you MG for your presence and your timely helpful feedback. I may have only had one class with you so far and forgive me if I confused you in a previous appreciation message. I remember how grateful I was to hear from you as a new student not knowing what to expect and being new to online classes. You are appreciated more than you know.
Thank you for communicating with us to let us know that you were having difficulties and for giving us some idea of what we could expect from you in the way of feedback on our assignments. I am holding the light for you.
I appreciate Rev. Sorensen's frequent communications regarding the lack of feedback to assignments. I understand you were having personal difficulties and I hold the light for your return.
Janelle, I so appreciate you as a teacher and I loved taking your class in meditation. I learned so much more about meditation than I already knew. I am still enjoying my new meditation practices thanks to you. I do hope to study with you again.
