Rev. Dr. Ruth M. Mosley, founder of West Side Unity and Unity Urban Ministerial School, made her transition on Sunday, November 8, 2020 in Memphis, Tennessee. Rev. Ruth lived her Truth out loud, she walked her talk, she ran her race. she stayed the course and all the while, she kept her faith. She held fast to the foundation on which she built the Church and the School as stated in Isaiah 61:1: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because God has anointed me to bring good news to the poor…to comfort the broken-hearted…to proclaim liberty to the captives…and freedom to those who are bound.” We send our loving thoughts and prayers to her son, Rev. William Mosley, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many offspring she birthed through ministry  Please Share your thoughts and memories with us below.

Thank you for the inspiring clarity in teaching the History of the African American Church—a course that not only illuminated the path of Divinity but also sparked personal transformation. Your teaching bridged a deep cultural and spiritual gap, reconnecting me with family and heritage in profound ways. Your dedication as the Registrar Officiant does not go unnoticed—thank you for your hard work and sacred service.
