Two years after being ordained a Unity minister, Rev. Ernestine Griffin (1995 UUMS graduate), prepared for and seized the opportunity to create a different ministry. She was in her second year as Associate Minister at Detroit Unity Temple, when she decided to plant the first and, to date, only Unity ministry on a college campus. Rev. Ernestine, a former member of the UUMS board of directors, launched Unity On Campus Ministry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1998. The program has provided spiritual education services and ministry to hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students. Participants in this program come from across the United States and other parts of the world. The ministry also serves many former Youths of Unity (YOU) and their friends who attend the university. Unity on Campus Ministry continues to evolve and inspire college students to prepare for opportunities by learning and practicing Truth principles in their academic careers. A “Manual on How to Start Campus Ministry” is listed on Unity Worldwide Ministries (UWM) website: unityworldwideministries.org. Read more.
